This is the first part of King Of The City's new double EP No Guts that was released about five days ago. Unfortunately with my starting of a new job I haven't had time to keep up with the tunes as they are released but rest assured the wait only makes it better. This five track masterpiece lives up to their self proclaimed sound of Wu - Tang meets the Beatles, gritty brit pop mixed with smooth electro and absolutely top notch vocals be they singing or rap. So grab it up and excuse my coma.

Ladies and gentlemen 3LAU is at it again, with his second installment of Dance Floor Filth, a twelve strong collection of hard hitting bootlegs and edits, your night life will never be the same. Again, another extremely talented young man in the electronic field, at just 21 Justin "3LAU" has been rocking clubs round the world with his amazing blend of top 40 hits and electro beats, branching from house to dubstep and back again. His first album represented my first successful attempt to bridge my music with my friends, which went surprisingly well, but this style requires me to tone it down in places where I need to uphold my hipster image, "its just a remix" doesn't work anymore. Also just a warning driving to this is the most fun you'll have in a car, watch the limits.

Lets just start this off by saying I've been keeping up with a lot of frat rap and hip hop these days, and the game is seriously lacking, the duo that is Upper West have restored my faith, or at least gained a new fan. But don't my uneducated label scare you, this album is top notch electro hip hop, my favorite rap album in a long time. They're also responsible for the best colab I've heard in a long time; Dougie, Jfink, Gabriel Stark, Reef and Sarah Solovay, so with that listen on and be amazed.
Art for art's sake, I couldn't have said it better myself, Montreal natives The Tanuki Project, are an alternative electronic visual band. Which means you're going to be saying, "a guitar shouldn't make noises like that" a lot. Every performance is like an exhibit at an art gallery, pushing the limits of your artistic senses making you draw connections between visuals and audio.
I first heard their single High Unholy under the Cyberpunk_music subreddit, the music video was a little hard to watch, being completely about police brutality, but once that visual is out of your head its not hard to imagine surfing around a sci fi city blasting these tunes which I guess was the whole reason I found it where I did. If you need a little help with the imagination part check out their website, specifically their live sets to get the whole scope of the combination act.
The Tanuki Project have been described as "The Ting Tings meet Nine Inch Nails", I would say more Metric meets Sybreed, or Airlock meets 65 Days of Static, either way its a perfect blend of hard rock styling, driving electro beats, and haunting vocals. The fact that they're Canadian just seals the deal for me. So pick up their album One by One and the High Unholy single for the great price of free below and hit all those links above for a little networking.
Also if the band just happens to see this I apologize for my recent lack of writing skills, I thought it was more important just to get the word out. So please support the artists and check us out on Facebook here. Cheers.
Lets get right to it shall we? After what seems like an eternity I've decided you folks don't receive enough punishment, or at least your ears don't. So for my return post I've got something that neither of us know fuck all about, lets call it a learning experience.
James Doesn't Exist, are a (now) five piece, well lets call them an experimental metal bad, from Highland Park, Illinois. I would love to be able to claim finding them for myself but all that blame can be placed squarely on the only person to use our Facebook page since I did many moons ago. There now my ass is covered and we can get onto the actual music here.
Uncanned is their tenth release, put out on their one year anniversary, cute isn't it? All told the eight tracks might add up to maybe ten minutes, which is really all the casual listener could handle, but if you're slightly deaf and really quite twisted you'll get your jollies a plenty. Amusing quote samples, heavier than your mom in a hummer riffs, and drum patterns that will surely scrape your inner ear for you, Uncanned is the perfect introduction to all JDE has to offer. I count thirteen projects on their Bandcamp, all free, so before I get negative contemplate whether you need to have your family/neighbors/everyone looking at you like you crawled out of some dark hole in the ground and grab them up.
Don't get me wrong I'm just the kind of fucked up it takes to appreciate this but taking an unbiased view here everything JDE has is designed for a niche market, and my only problem other than that is how short the tracks are. Maybe its a good thing, maybe too much would melt your brain, but it can come off as not knowing how to make a full length track, its like every file is an idea, and somewhere after the first minute something clicked off. Uncanned is an eight track, maybe ten minute release and its not the shortest, Meatheads has 25 tracks almost all of them under five seconds. That's just me being nit picky and really its because I want more that I offer this constructive criticism.
Also before I get lazy again thanks to AJT for sending over his remix of their track Crunk Juice, check it out here, and expect more posts about JDE in the future. If you liked my little disjointed post here please consider heading over to FB and letting me know, cause really I would like to get back into a regular schedule but I need a little encouragement.
Besides having the most metal name in electronic music electronica duo, At Dawn We Rage, have got to be the only band to give me a dubstep... well its embarrassing, lets move on.
One thing you'll notice right off about ADWR is the energy, serious caffeine bleeding from your speakers powering everything you do, and I think I hear your neighbors knocking. Eviction threats aside their Until The Light Takes Us EP is a masterpiece of modern electronic music, blending the heaviness of dubstep with the speed of drum and bass, and the flair of dance hall house music. Take it from me, you'll be hard pressed to find better, anywhere. So check out their Facebook, Soundcloud, or Website for a plethora of massive tunes that only cost you an email address and oh yeah if you don't, I'll find you. Also because tomorrow is our one year it would make it me uber happy to hear from you on our Facebook page, if you do I'll have something very special planned for tomorrow.
Today just happens to be a record breaking day, most pageviews in a day and most posts in a day, tomorrow is our one year and I'm hoping for 14, 000 views by then, which shouldn't be a problem, you'll understand when you hear this next album.
Kraddy, bass music pioneer, has been spinning since the Glitch Mob was just an idea and my ears had never bled from dubstep, that's a long time ago. So to celebrate this legend lets show you his free album Anthems of the Hero. AOTH is a rock influenced electronic masterpiece, really, most metal doesn't come close to being this metal, and at eleven songs in length, each one pushing five minutes, this will keep you on your toes and running fast for a serious long time. As you know our generation really hates having to spend money on something we can pirate, and any established producer that has the heart to offer tracks like these for free is alright in my books. So seriously take a peek then download this beast, and tell your friends, spread it like the plague.
You may not know this but I have tremendous respect for anyone who can use Delta in their name and have it work out well. Although we've only seen this before once or twice each time its something amazing, so to start, props to Bastille. I really wish I could find more info about them online, I feel like whatever facts I have are wrong but if you don't mind I (guess) they are a dance duo from Los Angeles (don't quote me on that). But fuck the facts, whether they're well known or not doesn't matter to me, what does is the music, and by Thor is it amazing. Their album Other People's Heartache, on top of being free, is a masterpiece of modern interpretative electronic, (I think I just made that up) at first I thought it was a mashup album but then I realized what I thought were samples were in fact remakes, covers if you will, performed by Bastille. Each track is a perfect blend of covers and electronic mixing, classic songs remade for a new generation and really I couldn't imagine any one else singing Rhythm is the Dancer, seriously where did this guy learn to sing like that? Now that I've heard it I can legitimately say I can die happy, and I hope I they play this album wherever it is I end up.
Alright let me set the scene for you, last week a buddy of mine went to a show here in St. Catharines, and proceeded to get so drunk he forgot to pick up an album for me, the album was by local legends, Lambs Become Lions. I had heard of them maybe two days before, I was drawn in by their song Lake Ontario a ballad of love found and lost on the shores of our inland sea. It clicked, I could swear that it was written for me, for the nights spent watching love set against the beach, and wondering what it was that I did right, and wrong. Emotion aside, said song is on their Cicada EP which is not available for download as of yet but that and their song Small Town Dreams are available on their Facebook page for the great price of free, just a little incentive to do some digging. But if you have a craving for post rock with a hint of electronic then we have something you might enjoy, Ghosts of A Fallen Soldier, their (I believe) first studio album. Although sadly lacking the folky vocals of their newer tunes it still gets its point across in droning guitars and progressive drums patterns, and is a must download for anyone who fancies themselves a connoisseur of fine music. For a small city band you can't get better.
Mustard Pimp, in my eyes an electronic duo not to be fucked with, only downfall they wrote a song for Jersey Shore. I know, I know its never good to start things off with a negative comment but seriously that's the only bad thing I can think of, and really bias sells. That being said I have a shit tonne of respect for The Baron and eKa, every track they make sounds different, has new influences and really even the one I complained about is amazing. Coming from french techno/house and metal backgrounds respectively this unlikely duo have released over 30 mixtapes in two years and have accumulated over 500, 000 downloads in such a small amount of time (my facts are most assuredly outdated, don't blame me). But we're not here for their mixtapes, we're here about No Title Or Purpose their latest free album thirteen full length bass pumping, jaw dropping, house shaking hits, for free. So get it.
I'm not entirely sure where the week went, something about blondes and beaches, so please accept my apology I'm going to sit through this class and write up about six posts just for you. This is mostly because my recently added playlist is absolutely swelling with free music, believe me, it would take you over a day straight to listen to what I downloaded this week. That being said nothing really connects with me today like Denison Witmer. A very good friend of mine introduced me to Noisetrade, a music sharing website over flowing with indie rock and folk music which is where I first heard of his album Are You A Dreamer? Anywho I'm willingly on the mailing list and I received an email that intrigued me, new music from Denison Witmer featuring Sufjan Stevens, that right there, just the mention of Sufjan and I'm there. Aside from the curb appeal, this release has more heart than everything you'll hear this week, hell maybe this month and really if you can sign Mr. Stevens to your cause then you have to have some kind of amazing talent. Don't let me prattle on though, just take it as a five star rating and download it here. One thing about Noisetrade, you'll be signed up for the email list, which is useful, and you'll be prompted to donate for the music, which I strongly suggest, if you don't then spam your Facebook friends, and your twitter followers and tell them I sent you.
Yet another extremely talented young artist, Smoothiesforme, heard around the world from Edinburgh Scotland. Holly, if I may, is one of those artists that grow on you every time you hear her music, and I cannot imagine a world where she doesn't have a hidden cult following, especially after winning numerous awards before 17 years of age. Her newest album New Beginnings is six tracks of musical bliss, although it is obviously from a female point of view, it isn't hard to relate to and each song has a new influence, almost a flair, from a different genre. Some songs pull more from folk or rock while some have an ambient almost electronic feel. Excluding the remix cause that would be too easy, each track is a new chapter in the novel that is the album and by Thor is it a page turner. So please grab it up, and consider actually putting a number higher than zero in that name your price box, take it from me, its worth money, and helping a young artist find her feet on the world stage is mutually beneficial, as long as she keeps pouring her heart and soul into that guitar.
To continue this week of frantic yet somehow lazy posting, I bring you an unsigned alt rock band from Sacramento, CA, Broken Iris. Originally I heard one of their tracks in a montage, don't ask which one. I was entranced by the dark overtones of sadness and hate, but somehow the depressing mood was overshadowed by the fast drum patterns, and slightly uplifting vocals, once you take a deeper look there really is a light at the end of this tunnel. One criticism, throughout the album I kept expecting the vocalist to just break and start screaming all post hardcore like but this never happened, maybe if they get together for a new album they should find someone to do maybe some back up growling or something, just boost the emotion. Overall a satisfactory experience. If you're into the whole slightly depressing alternative scene then give them a try and please consider buying their album or checking out their website here. If you don't have money look below for the torrent I used, its all legit, if there aren't enough seeders let me know I'll see what I can do.
Australia is apparently way more badass than we give them credit for, shown quite obviously by symphonic death metal giants Make Them Suffer. The story about how I happened to first heard them is too long to bother writing and really, isn't entertaining at all. What is entertaining is the classification of symphonic death metal, think of it as death metal with a piano, cause really that's all that it is, but by thor is it amazing. Seriously though this isn't for the faint of heart if you don't enjoy metal then sure give it a try, but you're a lost cause. For those of us with frequently bleeding ears this is a treat, and free, but hey I don't think it was intended to be so get it while you can.
Its been a horribly long time since I've graced this site with my presence, so starting tonight I'll be uploading whenever the hell I feel like it, working off the excessive amount of free tunes I've been hoarding. No scheduled posts just a random album whenever I get the chance, starting tonight with the "These vile creatures EP" by San Francisco dubstep super group Helicopter Showdown. Called the Wu Tang clan of underground bass music these four geniuses have graced my ears more than once before, so please grab this amazingly free release and consider paying for some of their other chart topping tunes. For me, well I talk too much, see you soon.
A couple years ago I was introduced to a sub genre of electronic called trance, I had all but forgotten about it until my new roommate decided to start experimenting and now I remember why I now hate it. For one the potential of the music remains largely untapped, all of the tracks you here have the same BPM and not one artist decided that maybe having hundreds of songs with the same beat would decrease the shelf life of any actual fresh tunes. On top of that the name is unfortunately ironic, good luck falling into a trance while listening to it unless you're pounding back LSD like a champ.
So I introduce to you my replacement to trance, chillstep, which as it so happens is scientifically proven to relax you to a trance like state, and the sheer amount of variety and skill is immense across this genre. My first real foray into chillstep was Azedia, then I moved to Vital and from there, Owsey.
Owsey, real name Owen Ferguson, is an electronic producer from Northern Ireland, and is quite possibly the best chillstep producer I've ever heard, at least in the top three. Although he doesn't have an album, all of his free downloads are arrayed in a convenient manner on his soundcloud. I recommend starting with his Skinny Love remix then moving slowly into his original tracks, from there well, life is a mystery, and that can't be portrayed in a better way than music.
So I was going to review one of the new EP's by french producer Pyramid today but that may have to wait indefinitely as I'm not sure how I got it without paying three euros, short term memory isn't my forte. So in continuation lets take a look at the Walking Televisions EP from Pittsburgh producer Mr Fijiwiji. No joke this guy is 16 years old, which blows my mind, and yes I say that every time but seriously why can't I have some crazy hidden talent like maybe the ability to share music with the world... oh wait. Those two links above will take you to the mediafire of his album and the bandpage app on his Facebook so that's six tracks of pure musical bliss ranging from borderline drum and bass to chillstep and glitchy electronica. Fun for the whole family, grab it up and spread the word.
So again while you have the time to read all this take a second to support the artists or at least spread the word to someone with money and please take a second to like our Facebook page here, bigger numbers mean maybe a justification of all the time I spend researching and draining the colleges bandwidth.
Its a serious shame that I waited till halfway through the week to write this post, but in all truthfulness my intake of music over the last couple days has increased exponentially. Just yesterday I downloaded over sixty single tracks not including an hour mini mix by Rameses B and three albums, by Sabrepulse, Pyramid and Day One (no links, you'll hear them soon enough). Its gotten so bad I've started deleting podcasts on the biggest ipod money can buy. All that being said lets get stuck in.
As may of you will know I've been following Omar LinX since A Cold Welcome was fresh and if you feel the need to hear his first two albums follow the link here. His brand new album Victor again lays down some of the best beats to cross my firewalls in a very long time, and yes the whole album features Zed's Dead, seriously try to make this sound more appealing. Once you get into it you're going to have a hard time not loving it, sure its only seven tracks long but thats half an hour of brutal dubstep backed by masterful vocals and the flow of the century. Come for the rap stay for the old school samples and more wubs than you can shake your stick at.
Alright time for something a little closer to the heart, I have a little affair going on with anything from the UK like Kings of the City. Nationality aside I have nothing but kind words and respect for these chaps, I mean its not everyday that you just up and find six other people that agree to make music together, its even more uncommon that you'll stay together for five tapes and then make all of them free. Yeah free you read that right if you head on over to their bandcamp you can get their Covers EP, No Rules to the Game EP and the Listen to the Old Man EP, not to mention singles for I Try and Darkness featuring Klashnekoff. That's 31 tracks, over two hours of
boundary pushing tunes. When I say boundary pushing I mean no two tracks are the same, discounting the Covers EP cause that's too easy, but there original tracks are an eclectic mix of indie, rock, rap, hip hop, grime and dubstep, none of it less than top notch. So if you have the hard drive space grab it all up for the price of your email address, tell them I sent you.
Once again pardon me for my lack of a schedule, if you feel benevolent then please support the artists, and spread the word, and take a second to like our Facebook page here.
So about a week or two ago I did something that really stretched my musical tastes I stumbled onto the February Music Alliance Pact article on The Guardian's website. Now don't get me wrong I've been listening to music from all over the world for longer than I should admit but ever only a couple artists, a couple genres, nothing like this. I guess I lived in ignorance of the fact that all the changes in musical taste and style were happening all over the world. The Music Alliance Pact really opened my eyes a little bit more to the vast array of gems hidden all over the world, and made finding them a whole lot easier.
So MAP is made up of 34 blogs around the world basically doing their best to connect us all in the universal language, music. I'm actually a little embarrassed I didn't know about this earlier, and I cannot endorse this more, to be a part of something that literally connects the world is amazing, and even though our blog here is minuscule I still manage to get most of my views from beyond North America, its an awesome feeling. Before we go too far here I'd like to hit you with the link to the zip file containing 36 tracks from aspiring artists all over the globe. Getting back into it here, I'm not entirely sure how long this has been going on but it looks like a monthly affair and I think I would like to do a little more research and maybe do a little update post every month even if its just to keep myself in the loop. Now I really don't want to take traffic away from the actual members of this group so I won't link any of the artists here but the original article is here, so if you would like to preview any of the tracks, or hear a little about the artist please visit it, I would also recommend clicking on the artist link next to each track, from what I've seen they're usually links to more of the artists work. So I'll put a couple videos up below for a preview, please take a minute or too to expand your horizons and really there's something here for everyone, every genre is explored and every track excels in its own arena, so give it a go, tell them I sent you.
As you can hear these two tracks are in english from Norway and Canada respectively, not only could I not find videos for some of the other tracks I wanted to link blogger's Youtube search decided to crap out so I had to embed the files, which is why they are off to the left hand side, my fault completely. So please take the time to download the zip and feel free to visit us on Facebook here.
Here we are again, so soon, I know I was going to leave it for a bit but then I found something I don't see everyday, a free Monstercat release, by electro DJ Muzzy. The Colours & Distractions EP is just that, colours and distractions, and as soon as I turned it on it filled me with energy, and for that to happen from something other than dubstep is an amazing improvement. I'm just glad no one else is home and that I'm not still at college (I missed my subs...).
So Muzzy Obaidi is a drum n bass/dubstep/house producer from Hampshire, UK, and is my new favorite Monstercat member (top three to be realistic). The release is 21 tracks long (262.9Mb!) and features a remix of Darkness by Kings of The City, and a 13 minute minimix. If you're craving more Muzzy head on over to his Bandcamp and stalk the shit out of Monstercat. Other than that its free there really isn't much to say, so grab it up and KILL THE SILENCE!
So instead of saving this for next monday I thought I would use SKetcho's latest mashup album as the meat in this electronic sandwich. MGM-Jay, a combination that left me staring at my laptop for a few minutes, would this sound good? Do I trust GMAD? Who is SKetcho? And really MGMT and Jay-Z? Lucky for us I took the chance, but you can understand my hesitancy these days the market is flooded with mashups, half of them are low grade, and the other half over played, so it was lady luck who encouraged bloggers like myself to spread the word, and that word is awesome. Fun fact SKetcho also does graphic design for OCD and Aziz, you learn something new everyday. If you're still a little dubious enjoy a preview, then head back up to the mediafire link and if you have any issue with this release please feel free to tell me on Facebook.
Alright folks, I'm back and to start off this week (a little late) I'm going to attempt the longest post for a while. Three artists three albums, all underground, all amazing lyrically and musically, so read on.
Aesop Rock, is an american hip hop artist from New York, (currently based out of Cali) and surprise surprise I've know about him for some time. I first heard a verse or two of his in a mashup somewhere... (may update this if I ever find the song) all I remember is the word Blue was in the title and Aesop's amazing surrealist game. These days its tough to find an artist that stays true to themselves, and interpret it how you want it, Aesop does just that. Take a peek at this verse...
"If you've never had a day a snow cone couldn't fix then you wouldn't relate to the rogue vocoder blitz. How he spoke through a no-doz motor on the fritz cause he wouldn't play roll over fetch like a bitch. And express no regrets, though he isn't worth a home owners piss to the jokers who pose by the glitz..."
Tell me what that means, half the comments on the lyric page were claiming that he spoke nothing but nonsense, the other half where fans proclaiming that he is the god of surrealist poetry, personally I'm leaning more towards the latter. That being said you shouldn't take my opinion for anything more than what it is, an opinion, so if you to take a try at interpreting the enigma code then be my guest and download his 2007 album None Shall Pass. And before you think that all this tape has is lyrics you should know that its been a long time since I've actually had a noise complaint, the bass on these tracks screams to be boosted, and the samples are old school, I mean old, the golden type of old. So whether you think that this album is a left sided propaganda scam, nonsense, or a surrealist gem to rival Dali, give it a chance and bump it.
Alright second on the roster today is Glue, a hip hop trio consisting of Adeem, Maker and DJDQ. These guys managed to completely mess my shit up last week, fresh from a funeral and I stumble onto a track that roundhouse kicks my heart, Early Morning Silence. Even the name has a foreboding feel to it, as I understand it the track is about Adeem waking up next to his dead girlfriend, then reminiscing about all the time he should have spent with her. Its not very often that hip hop artists let their feelings show for other than hoes and all that shiny stuff, and I respect that, and I think theres nothing more they could have done to make the Sunset Lodge EP any more superb. Its a perfect blend of hip hop stylings, classic samples, expert vocals, and most importantly soul. So grab it up and fade away.
You folks may remember way back when I wrote up (in my opinion) a pretty decent post about Milo, who is less of a rapper more of a spoken word warrior. I've heard a lot of classifications for Milo, from Nerd hop to spoken word, to computerized soul funk and self help hop, to me its just a smarter of way of rapping. Before you get too scared by something that isn't generic rap I should tell you that surprisingly he actually sings once in this album, and even if the vocal rhythm isn't hip hop the beats aren't far off and any self respecting geek will feel right at home mapping the web of video game and classic lit references. If you aren't a nerd you should be just fine with the track "Prince Abakakliki of Nigeria Needs Your Help" which for lack of a better description is a love song... or at least it fringes on it, on second thought if you aren't a geek none of it will make sense, thats what makes this album such a gift, I will never hear it blaring from a lowered civic. So grab up Milo Takes Baths, and don't explain it to anyone, you shouldn't have to.
Thanks again for sticking by us through all this mess, hopefully this post and the one I will write a bit later for today will make it all better, also 12000 views!!! Thats immense, if you had anything to do with it head on over to our Facebook page and stay up to date, and hey you already know the numbers make me happy. Sorry for the grammar...
To start today isn't actually Wednesday, its Sunday, I'm doing laundry and feeling sorry for myself, and for the first time in months I found something I think I might actually be able to write about.
Memphis May Fire, are a five piece post hardcore band from Dallas, Texas, and my god are they good. Admittedly my punk phase is long gone but today I really feel a connection with the hard hitting guitar riffs, pounding drum patterns vocals ripped from the throat of fallen angels. Don't ask what sparked it because that's too long of a story to include, short version is girl troubles. That being said MMF's 2011 album The Hollow is a work of fucking art, equal parts head splitting screamo angst that resounds around your heard and mind urging you to hate and soft emotion laden instrumental, almost electronic/post rock interludes. There really is an emotional part to this album, what first attracted me to it was my interpretation of the first few tracks as love songs, albeit love songs wrenched from deep within a tortured soul just past a bleeding heart. Its almost like the artists and I sat down and had a poetry session to script the past. The only problem with todays artists are the lack of reliable download links, so here is a link to the torrent I unfortunately had to use, or you could go on over to pop-to-core and bitch at them until they fix the Mediafire link. Either way this album is amazing and the quick fix to not being able to download it reliably is to go buy it!
Outline In Color, are a seven piece post hardcore outfit from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and they are responsible for my recent screamo splurge. I heard their track, My Other Car Is A Time Machine, in a montage that was for one reason or another inboxed to me on Youtube. That prompted me to listen to their debut self titled album for way longer than the songs lasted and then came the inevitable search around the internet for a reliable link, and (see the pattern here?) again I came up with a Torrent, that's it. But amazingly enough the torrent took maybe ten minutes and I was jamming away. For a debut album Outline In Color is amazingly thick and well produced, the tunes are driving and soul tearing, every section is played to the limit and past to create a package you'd be straight stupid to pass up. So grab that torrent above as a preview and go buy the album!
Hope you enjoyed today's post, apologies for the influx of torrents but blame the internet for being so full of holes. Please head on over to our Facebook page and give us a like, also apologies if the posts earlier this week were crap but don't blame me I haven't written them yet.
Have you seen my ghost? Its really a good question, I think the tea is the only thing keeping me on this earth today, I have five hours of class starting at noon and I got maybe four hours of sleep last night, so please follow me down the narrow tunnel of sleep vision to today's post.
Halifax, Nova Scotia, is apparently a breeding ground for indie/folk groups, don't ask me who else started there but I'm sure someone did. Anyway a week or so ago I was bored enough to watch Flashpoint, which was a good idea because both times I've seen that show the outro song is amazing, this time it happened to be Search Party By Wintersleep of the 2007 album Welcome to the Night Sky. This album tore me up...
I used to dream about saving the world
Now i just dream about the holidays
I used to write so many songs for my girl
Now i just dream about floating away
You can't get any more soulful without a permit. Very powerful stuff but its not only the lyrics and the eastern Canadian accent that make this album amazing, the guitars and drums are grade A indie rock, bordering on post rock which adds a whole new element to the songs. I don't have anything bad to say about Wintersleep, I'm glad to be Canadian and good sirs, your music has the power to touch hearts of stone, keep it up.
Also please check out their website for bonus tracks from WTTNS and the headline track from their new album, and if you have a minute head on over to our Facebook page and give it a like, much obliged.
Alright, I've got something a little different for you today, I know I say that everyday but this time I couldn't mean it more.
Lets start of by saying I couldn't find a flattering picture of these guys, at all, on the internet, which is insane, also I'm still not completely decided whether its one or two artists, that being said on to the music. Nero's Day At Disneyland, is/are an electric/glitch/breakcore solo/duo from Oakland California, yeah breakcore. Have a read there, or just understand that its a style of electronic music largely influenced by D n' B, Glitch and IDM, you might want to look those up too. Confusion aside I first heard their songs "No Money Down, Low Monthly Payments" and "Child Protective Services Theme Song" off the album From Rotting Fantasylands after I couldn't stand not knowing the name of Pewdiepie's intro song, since then I've been scaring my friends and family with the some of the best IDM I have in my arsenal. Before we get too far lets give you an example of how powerful this music is, as we speak I can't control my legs and yesterday I seriously thought I was the Joker and asked everyone on campus if they knew where I could find Batman. Let me put it in layman's terms, THIS MUSIC WILL FRACTURE YOUR CONSCIOUSNESS.
You guys remember the 70's right? Yeah neither do I but apparently they've infiltrated electronic music. 1200 Micrograms, is an psychedelic trance act from Ibiza, and that guy with the glasses is the frontman, Raja Ram, I'm pretty sure I read that right. Now before you start questioning my credibility lets just say that I only heard about these guys last night when my roomate decided it would be a good idea to play Black Ops and listen to trance, maybe not such a good idea. Originally obtained via a torrent compilation called the Time Machine, the tracks I have are from all over the place so I'm just going to link you to their first album and from there your life is your own. Their self titled album, 1200 Micrograms is nine tracks in length and was released in 2002, and please for the love of Talos don't look up the album art, its embarrassing. Apparently all went well when it was released because they released a further SEVEN albums, all just as crazy and drug fueled, that being said the tracks I have are top notch one of them even contains samples from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, so grab it up and don't tell your parents.
